At 2pm this Thursday, bring your child to the Sebring Public Library to meet Local Heroes at the Library! The Forestry service and Smokey the Bear will be paying the library a visit. Come ready to have fun while we learn how to keep our beautiful county free from wildfires! There is no cost to attend the event and you don’t need to have a library membership.

The Broadway Lights Theatre Co. invites you to the Tanglewood Community Clubhouse on Friday, July 20th at 7pm to “Friday Night Jazz” Featuring the talents of the Daryl Patrick Jazz Ensemble. Doors open at 6:15. Admission is $5 and tickets are sold at the door. Free admission to all disabled vets. Bring your own beverage and snack and listen to some wonderful light jazz.
This Friday, the American Legion Post 25 in Lake Placid, is having Double Trouble with the fiddling sisters, Ashley & Emily Finke, from 5:30-8:30pm. For info call 863-465-0975
Make sure to sign up early for the Dr. Tom McDonald Caladium Festival 5k next Saturday, July 28th. All participants meet at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Placid and the race kicks off at 7am. Registration forms are available at the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce and First Presbyterian Church offices. Entry fee for the race is $20 thru Friday, July 20th and $30 from July 21st thru race day. There will be awards given for men and women’s divisions.

And don’t miss your opportunity to play in the HICDA All Stars Toys for Tots golf tournament next Saturday, July 28th at the Country Club of Sebring. The 4 person scramble has an 8am shotgun start and is $65 per player to enter. Beer and lunch will be provided plus there will be 50/50 and raffles to win great prizes.
