This Thursday, find the job of your dreams at the Spring Hiring Event!
From 11am – 1pm, dress to impress and bring your resume to the Burt Harris Ag Center in Sebring, to meet with potential employers.

This Friday, One Hope United presents the 3rd Annual Dancing with the Highlands County Stars! Dinner and show start at 7pm at the Circle Theater in Downtown Sebring. Tickets are $65 per person or $120 per couple. For tickets or info call 618-367-9100

Head to Fireman’s Field this Saturday to honor the Heartland Courageous Kid. Isaac Juliano will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Sebring JV baseball game at 9am. 100% of gate proceeds and cupcake sales will be donated to benefit Juliano.

The Lake Placid Elks will host a 3-act Murder Mystery this Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are only $15 and proceeds benefit the Highlands County Sheriff’s k-9 Division.

The Sebring Strong 5k Memorial Walk/Run takes place Sunday, from 8am – noon. It’s only $10 to register and all proceeds benefit the families of the victims of the Suntrust Bank shooting. You can register morning of or call 402-9001

Saturday & Sunday evening, Highlands Men’s Chorale will perform a medley of gospel songs at 6 o’clock. Saturday at Church of the Brethren in Avon Park & Sunday at First Baptist Church of Okeechobee.

The Women’s Guild of St. Catherine Church is hosting a Dessert Card Party this Thursday at the old Knights of Columbus Hall in Sebring. The party is from noon to 3:00pm. It’s open to the public and only $5 to attend.

The Sky Family presents a Celtic Revival Concert at First Baptist Church of Lorida this Friday, at 6:30 pm. A love offering will be taken, so you don’t need a ticket.

The Orchid Society of Highlands County presents the 13th Annual Orchids by the Lake Show, this Saturday and Sunday, at the Jack Stroup Center in Sebring. It’s only $4 for the event. Children 12 and under are free. Call Peter for more details 699-1575

The Lake Placid Farmer’s Market in Journal Plaza runs this Saturday, from 8am – 1:30pm. Barney & Nancy will entertain with live music from 10am – noon.

Come to Bill Jarrett Ford this Saturday, and help raise money for Avon Park High School’s Arts Programs. Just test drive a vehicle between 9am – 4pm & help the school reach it’s $6,000 goal.

Special STARS will practice from 3-5 p.m., this Sunday, at the Highlands County Sports Complex, in Sebring, in preparation for the 20th annual Special STARS Softball Classic Tournament April 6th. Players, coaches and volunteers are needed.

The 3rd Annual Jade’s Journey Bass Tournament is set for March 30th, at Camp Mack River Resort. Entry fee is $110 per boat with a 5 fish limit. Proceeds help the Jackson’s with medical expenses fighting cancer.

The Lake Placid Morning Rotary Golf Tournament is Saturday, March 30th at Placid Lakes Country Club. It’s $65 per player with an 8:30 shotgun start. Call Nell Hays to reserve your group’s spot 446-3031

The Sons of the American Legion Post 69 will host a dinner/dance Saturday, March 30th. Admission is $14. Pork tenderloin will be served and “He Said, She Said” will perform from 5 to 9PM. The event is open to the public. Call 863-453-4553 to find out more

The Highlands Community Chorus’ Spring Concert will be held Sunday, March 31st, at 4pm at South Florida State College’s Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $10 and are available through the SFSC Box Office or at the door.

The Highlands County Farm Bureau will hold it’s 19th Annual Clay Shoot, Saturday April 6th at Quail Creek Plantation, in Okeechobee. It’s open to the public and you may enter a team or as an individual shooter. Reservations may be made at the HCFB office in Sebring. Call 385-5141 for details.
